Zeffirelli, Branagh, and Almereyda Ghost Scenes

After watching all three ghost scenes from the movie Hamlet, there are obvious differences that took place. In the first ghost scene, by Branagh, it was extremely dramatic, loud, and had  dramatic and suspensefulness music. However, in  the Zeffirelli and the more modern version,  Almereyda, the scene was a bit more believable and less dramatic than the Branagh version.  In the Branagh version, the actor seemed more angered than frightened. In the other two films, the actors seemed very frightend. The ghost that played in each version were also different  in comparison. In the more modern Almereyda version, the ghost seemed more ghostly because  he was very pale, frail, and vulnerable. He spoke in a soothing way, whereas, the Branagh version was spoke very loudly and quickly. In both the Zeffirelli and Almereyda version the ghosts were more angered when the spoke and seemed to be seeking revenge. The big difference in the Almereyda version was that the ghost touched and hugged Hamlet, showing a more affectionate  relationship than the othe ghosts. The Branagh version took place in the woods with no one around. The Zeffirelli film took place  underground and the Almereyda film took place in a hotel balcony.  The music also had a large role in the feel of the movies.  The Branagh version had loud, in your face kind of music, while the Zeffirelli and Almereyda versions had more calmer music, really changing the whole mood of the film.
